6R80 Transfer Case Adapter
This adapter is designed to connect our Atlas transfer cases to a Ford 6R80 automatic transmission, letting you enjoy more off-roading gear options while still getting the drivetrain’s excellent shift performance and fuel economy. The 6R80 can be found behind the 3.7L V6 engine up to the 6.2L V8 engine from 2009 to current. Some of the vehicles in this timeframe that come stock with a 6R80 transmission include the Ford F-150, Ford Ranger, Mazda BT-50, 2015-present Ford Everest and 2019-10 Mercury Mountaineer. The 6R80 weighs about 215 pounds and is built for 590 foot-pounds of input torque.
The 10R80 transmission can also be used as it shares the same bolt pattern. Since 2017, this transmission has been an option in many of the same vehicles as the 6R80 along with the 2020-present Ford Endeavor, 2020-present Ford Transit and 2018-present Lincoln Navigator plus others. Transfer Case
Both two-speed and four-speed Atlas transfer case units can be mated to a 6R80 transmission with this adapter. Note the casting does not use our standard 31-spline input; it uses a shorter 31-spline shaft (Part No. 300110A or assembly A31S). If you have an Atlas with a longer 31-spline input, you can shorten it to fit the transmission application. The adapter length is 3.625 inches, which should fit most vehicles with little or no modification when using the short input.
Transmission
The kit is designed for exclusive use with the Ford 6R80 4WD and Ford 10R80 4WD transmission. Separate Atlas transfer case adapters are available for the GM 6L80 and other similar transmissions.
When installing the Atlas in a Ford Bronco, the shift kit for the Atlas four-speed is recommended (Part No. 344004). This 6R80 shifter kit has a longer assembly that works well with the length of the transmission.
