4L80E to Toyota Land Cruiser Transfer Case Adapter (19-Spline)
This Advance Adapters 4L80 transfer case adapter is designed to mate a GM 4L80E 4WD automatic transmission to Toyota Land Cruiser split-case transfer cases equipped with a 19-spline input. It provides a strong, precise connection for drivetrain swaps that combine GM transmission strength with Toyota transfer case durability.
The adapter measures 3.19 inches in length, with a combined transmission and adapter length of 29.19 inches. The adapter housing is precision-machined from 356-T6 heat-treated aluminum alloy for strength, durability, and long-term reliability in off-road and heavy-duty applications.
Transfer Case Compatibility
This adapter assembly fits Toyota Land Cruiser transfer cases manufactured from August 1980 through 1989. During this period, Toyota transitioned to a split-case transfer case design featuring a 19-tooth internal spline input gear, which this kit is specifically engineered to support.
Transmission Compatibility – GM 4L80E
This adapter kit is designed exclusively for GM 4L80E 4WD transmissions. The 4L80E is similar in size and strength to the TH400 but adds electronic control and overdrive, making it a popular choice for performance, towing, and off-road builds.
Unlike the 4L60E, the 4L80E does not use an external reluctor ring. Instead, it relies on internal speed sensors located on the transmission input and output shafts. However, not all 4L80E transmissions are equipped with a rear reluctor ring from the factory.
