Description

The 716167 is a custom pilot bushing for adapting a Jeep Wrangler 4cyl engines to some Jeep/Dodge transmissions with .75” pilot tips. The pilot bushing is normally supplied in our adapter kits for replacing the factory AX5 transmission for a heavier duty AX15 or NV4500. The 716167 is designed for installation into the factory 4cyl flywheel. The pilot bushing is also commonly purchased separately for some odd conversions where the factory OEM pilot bushing with a .59” pilot tip is too small.

Advance Adapters designed this special pilot bushing to solve the issue. The pilot bushing is manufactured of a special bronze oilite material. It is essentially a bronze alloy material that has been penetrated will oil. The bushing essentially has “pores” where oil can permeate throughout the bushing keeping the bushing properly lubricated for the transmission input shaft.

I used this Pilot Bushing in the conversion from an AX-5 to the AX-15 behind the AMC 2.5L. It installed perfectly into the flywheel, and the tolerances were perfect. I have been running it now for 9 months with zero issues, and recommend this part to anyone who needs it.

Great fit, smooth and clean assembly. And best of all a quiet and solid operation...Now I can put 33” on my wrangler and can climb mountains while towing at the same time…hahaha.
